Almond Crackers
1 cup butter (no substitution)
2/3 cup sugar
1¼ sleeves club or waverly crackers
1-1½ cups sliced almonds
Preheat oven to 300-degrees. Line a cookie sheet with foil & cover with a single layer of crackers, spread almonds over crackers. Melt butter over medium heat, add sugar, stir until sugar is completely dissolved and continue until mixture is thickened, lemon-yellow & boiling softly. Carefully spread (spoon) mixture over cracker/almond until covered. Bake 20-25 minutes or until butter looks browned; allow to sit 5 mins., Transfer to clean foil & cool.
