Biscuits

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbs. shortening
  • ¾ cup milk

    Put dry ingredients into a large bowl. Cut shortening into dry mixture until crumbly. Add milk all at once, stir lightly. Knead 5 or 6 times on floured board. Pat dough 1 inch thick, cut into 2-inch circles. Place on greased pan, bake 12 to 15 minutes in 425-degree oven.
