Chinese Chews
2 cups flour
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
Mix the above ingredients to make crumbs and pat into shallow pan (8 X 16" or smaller) and bake 10 minutes at 300-degrees. Remove from oven and spread with the following mixture:
1 cup brown sugar
2 Tbs. flour
¼ tsp. salt
1 cup chopped pecans
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. baking powder
Beat ingredients and spread over baked crust. Bake slowly until light brown, about 40 minutes. The inside should be fairly moist when removed from oven. Cool and cut into squares.
