Peanut Butter Bon Bon
1½ sticks (¾ cup) butter/margarine
2 cups peanut butter (for convenience, I use an 18 oz. jar)
1 lb. confectioners sugar
3 cups rice krispies (crush lightly with hands)
Mix butter, peanut butter and sugar until smooth, then blend in rice krispies. Form into small balls, about the size of a walnut. Melt semi-sweet or sweet chocolate in double boiler; using two forks, dip balls in chocolate to coat, place on waxed paper and chill until set. The above takes about 1 lb. of chocolate. I like to use Hershey milk chocolate, and add a small amount of paraffin (a small birthday candle will do) to the melted chocolate so it will set up again. I also like to crush salted peanuts and roll the balls in that for coating. Makes about 90.
