Quick Beef Stroganoff

  • 1 lb. round steak, cut in ¼" cubes
  • flour
  • 2 Tbs. fat
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup fresh chopped mushrooms
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 10½ -11 oz. can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp. salt & a dash of pepper

    Start with ¼ cup of flour seasoned with salt and pepper as desired. Coat cubes of meat in this mixture (add flour if necessary). Brown cubes in fat over medium heat, add ¼ cup of water, onions, and garlic; cover pan and steam or simmer meat on low heat until tender. Check frequently, adding more water if necessary. Add tomato soup, Worcestershire sauce, and mushrooms; simmer ten more minutes. Remove from heat; add sour cream. Serve over cooked egg noodles.
