Seven Layer Salad
1 head lettuce, chopped or torn
½ cup chopped green pepper
½ cup diced celery
1 Spanish onion, thinly sliced
1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen peas (not cooked)
2 cups mayonnaise
1 Tbs. sugar
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 slices bacon, fried crisp (or as much as desired)
In a large bowl, layer lettuce, green pepper, celery, onion and peas. Mix mayonnaise with sugar, and spread over frozen separated peas. Top with shredded cheese and then sprinkle with crumbled bacon. Cover with saran wrap and refrigerate 24 hours before serving. Keeps several days.
