Sour Cream Coffee Cake (Barbara)

  • 1 cup margarine
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ¼ tsp. salt

  • Topping:
  • ½ cup nuts
  • 2 Tbs. brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon

    Cream together margarine, sugar & eggs. Fold in sour cream & vanilla, then add sifted dry ingredients. Spoon ½ the batter into a 10" tube pan, then put topping on, add remaining batter & another recipe of topping. Bake at 350-degrees for 55 – 60 minutes. Cool almost completely before removing from pan. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
