Dear Family,

Hard to believe an entire year has passed since the Robin was last in Oregon. It is good to hear from everyone. I will keep this brief since I just "rediscovered" the envelope that contained the family letter.

It has been a busy year since I last wrote. Brett, our oldest, graduated in June and is attending the University of Oregon. He is majoring in Sports Marketing and is an equipment manager for the football team. This had been a dream of his and he was able to secure a job with the football team. What a year to do it! The Ducks won the Pac- 1O championship and then went to the Fiesta Bowl where they walloped Colorado. Brett hadn't been able to travel with the team up until that game. He worked very hard, but had a good time at the bowl game. He came away with many nice gifts, including two gorgeous championship rings (Pac-10 & Fiesta Bowl) to show for all his work. He even got a game jersey from the Fiesta Bowl with his name on the back.

Scott is finishing up his junior year in high school. He was QB of the junior varsity football team and had a great year. He also played basketball and is currently throwing the javelin and running the hurdles on the track team. Tomorrow night he will be inducted into the National Honor Society. He has had quite a year. He will be attending two football camps this Spring and Summer to help him get ready to be a varsity QB next season.

Beth is continuing with her piano lessons and doing quite well. I'm sure the highlight of her year was going back east with grandma (Sally Pursley) and attend the family reunion. She is the first member of my family to attend. My brother Rick has made it several times when he lived back east, but we have never been able to make it. Beth had a great time thanks to Skip and Percy dragging them all over the place. Great memories ...

Sarah and I have enjoyed being Duck fans this year. We went to all of the home games, including the Civil War in a downpour. I was able to fly to LA for the UCLA game in the Fall and attended with my two brothers and father. We had a great time. We all went down to the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, AZ and brought in the new year with a Duck victory over the Buffaloes. It was a fantastic trip even though we drove all the way (about 2500 miles).

I hope this finds all of you in good health and enjoying all that life has to offer.

Much love,

Jim and Sarah and Family
