Dear Family,

What a great time I had at the reunion. We all make an effort to attend but no one made a bigger effort that Aunt Jean and Uncle Bru. It was just so nice to have them with us. Everyone seemed to have a good time although there were those stories that certain people told me that I know stretched the truth a little bit. Then too there are those people in my immediate family that refuse to let me enjoy a Steelers game when I sent a very capable substitute to cook the hamburgers and hot dogs. Well there are those moments in every great day.

I usually say something about each of my children at this time. When I got home I sent an email to each of my daughters and asked them if they would like to write in the family Robin. Cheri, Deb, and Laurie said they would like to be included. Kim is working almost every day and a lot of hours at different hospitals in the Memphis area. Kim spends a lot of her free time working with the local veterinarians to hold down the cat population. She has several cats and dogs at her home in Senatobia Mississippi.

The Tuesday before the reunion Aunt Jean and Uncle Bru arrived in Pittsburgh. When we picked them up at the airport I don't think I ever saw anyone happier than Aunt Jean. They both said they had a good trip and were glad to be in Pittsburgh. Karen took them to Cincinnati to visit with Aunt Ann on Wednesday and came back on Thursday. Wednesday Laurie and I drove to Joe Mickey home near Harrisburg for Aunt Betsy's services. When we went down for Uncle Wes's service about five years ago they asked for people to say something about Uncle Wes and although I had some great memories of Uncle Wes I wasn't prepared to get my story together and I always felt bad about that. So this time I was prepared and no one asked. So I will say something now. I talked to Aunt Betsy a year or so ago and she said to me, you know Petty (she always called me Petty) we have had a good life haven't we? I told her we did and we had some great times together. I also remembered back in 1959 when the family drove down from Alaska, the year Alaska became a state and the year I graduated from high school. For some reason Betsy and I were at my parent's house when a neighbor came over. His name was Bob Claney. We called him Uncle Bob but he was not a relative he was a no good womanizing SOB. When he came in I introduced him to Aunt Betsy. Well he went over to her grabbed her lifted her off her feet then gave her a big smack on the butt. It brought a few tears to Betsy's eyes plus a few choice words for him to get away from her. She like everyone else just didn't know what to make of Uncle Bob. What a great lady she was and we will all miss her.

When I e-mailed my daughters I told them I had a rule about the family Robin and that was to move it along within a week. I told them if they didn't have time to write just read some or all the letters and send it on its way. For me it's a rule for them it's only a suggestion. We had also agreed at the last reunion to send each letter to the Mickey Family web site for posting. I believe that address is skip@mickeyfamily.com

I am enclosing the list Skip put on the internet with all the family members in the order that they should receive the Robin. I noticed that the Moyer's weren't on the list.
