Dear Family,

Robin is certainly flying fast this round and what great letters, pictures and updates of family events.

We had a traveling summer but are very happy to be home for awhile. We left Mesa July 6 and returned September 19, just in time to help Uncle Bru celebrate his 80th birthday. (A couple months late). We were so excited to visit with cousins and their children, Uncle Wes and of course, Aunt Jean – the hostess with the mostest!! Needless to say there were some absent family members greatly missed.

Jan and I had the privilege to take a 3 week tour to Europe. Our tour guide was a personal friend we've known since 1954 and now he is a retired History Professor of Elizabethtown College. We had many historical lectures as we rode the comfortable bus thru the highways of eight European countries. The highlight of the trip was the Passion Play in Oberammergau – tremendous production. The next best thing was having a simple worship service beside the Eder River in Schwarzenau Germany where the Church of the Brethren was started. We had one member of the tour who wanted to be and was re-baptized where the first 8 members were baptized in 1708 and that too was special.

Prior to our trip to Europe we were able to join Brian and Alece and the rest of the wedding party and family at the rehearsal dinner. Very nice and thank you, Jim and Linda. We then drove the RV to Massachusetts and had a fun time at the Mickey reunion hosted by Percy, Polly and families of Edgar Mickey clan.

We had a little time with Reis and Joann and discussed the Mickey reunion of 2001. They really want to host it so be watching your mail for details early next year.

On Oct. 1-12 we will be visiting Randy and Teresa in Monroe, WA. It was a sad/happy day when they announced they sold their cabin and land in Alaska. It was such a wonderful place, but they seem very settled in Washington now.

Robin, Jane, Lisa and Laura are having a great experience adjusting and learning the ways of "down under." Robin was approached to be the consultant for Lucent folks in Sydney as they develop their wireless communication system. Robin and Jane went over for a quick look for a house and school district that would be satisfactory. In fact, we did childcare for 10 days in May while they were out of country. (One reason I did not get to Aunt Cricket's service).

Robin flew July 2 and Jane and the girls left July 8. They have found a comfortable home and the girls seem to be enjoying the new school experience. Our e-mail makes for interesting reading since they are also picking up the lingo of the Aussies. We're eager to go visit and possibly travel a bit with them during one of their school holiday periods. They did attend some of the Olympic activities but try as we did, we couldn't find them on the telly.

Our life is not dull, we don't sit still long enough to get bored so, life is good. We're especially excited to have Carol and Jerry, and Terry and Carol come west this winter between Christmas and for the New Year. Max and Alice plan to get here mid November so the eight of us plan to have a ball!!

It's always great to hear from each of you and trust you will try to attend the reunion – August 11th at Union Bridge, MD. We'll see you then.

Peace: Roma Jo & Jan

Ps. We highly recommend the movie: "Remember the Titans", Denzel Washington & crew – we think the best movie we have seen for a long time!
